Natsu Matsuri

So today I went to Mitsuwa Marketplace in Arlington Heights, IL for their annual Natsu-Matsuri which is a traditional Japanese summer festival. When I got there it had already started and there was a taiko group on stage and to my surprise my sensei from when I played taiko was up there, so I thought that was pretty cool. The performance was really good and it was probably the highlight of the festival for me (besides the food). Sorry I didn’t get any pictures or video of the taiko performance since all I had was my crappy cell phone and I was too far back to get even a decent shot, so hopefully I’ll be getting a real camera soon. Anyway, on to the best part of the festival… the food. I took some pictures of my lunch/dinner which I ate in a span of about an hour.

Beef Bowl

Green Tea

Yakitori and Takoyaki

Melon Ramune

After I was done eating it was time for the Bon Odori, which I of course did not participate in because I can’t dance at all, but I did take some pictures and some videos that will be up a little later because they are still processing on Youtube. Ince again, sorry for the crappy quality, but I did the best I could with my cell phone.

Edit- I forgot to post the picture of this Sapporo Beer fan that I got
